Twist of fate

Oh what unhappy twist of fate
has brought you homeless to my gate?
The gate where yet another stood,
in search of shelter, warmth and food.
And from that day I ceased to be the
master of my destiny.
Oh I can't believe I never saw,
how within my house you became the law.
You scratched my furniture and you shed,
and claimed the middle of my bed.
You ruled with arrogance and pride
and broke my heart the day you died.
So he who stands here on my mat
do you think I want to relive all that?
Because you come here forlorn and thin...
well, don't just stand there...
come on in.
